The story of the Good Samaritan has always been about compassion, yet it also carries a message many of us miss. You are all the characters in that story. You are the one who is hurting. You are the one who walks past your own needs. You are also the one who stops to care.

There are moments when life whispers the words Jesus once quoted, “Physician heal yourself.” It is not an insult. It is an invitation to recognise when your soul is tired or your spirit is stretched thin. It is a gentle reminder that you can step in and offer yourself the same kindness you give so freely to others.

Healing yourself does not mean carrying everything alone. It means admitting when things are not okay. It means resting when you are weary. It means seeking support when your strength feels low. God placed people, resources and wisdom around you for a reason. Choosing to heal is choosing to live with intention.

Small steps matter. Eating well. Sleeping enough. Pausing when your heart feels overwhelmed. Speaking to someone you trust. These simple acts are not signs of weakness. They are signs that you have chosen to treat your own well-being with respect.

Be your own Good Samaritan. Stop when your soul is calling for help. Offer care. Offer patience. Offer compassion. Healing begins with the moment you decide to listen.
